After kicking off our 10-episode season with Prospect Solar, we're continuing the conversation with two leaders who have spent their careers helping move the modular construction industry forward.
For Episode 2, Chris and Kathy Wilmot welcome Tom Hardiman and Heather Packard of the Modular Building Institute (MBI) for a conversation about the evolution of modular construction, workforce development, education, and what's ahead for our growing industry.
And, of course, there's a little friendly competition along the way.
Building the Future of Modular Construction
The modular construction industry continues to evolve as more organizations recognize the benefits of building off-site—from accelerated schedules and greater quality control to reduced site disruption and increased efficiency.
Helping lead that progress is the Modular Building Institute, the international trade association for commercial modular construction.
In Episode 2, Tom and Heather join the Wilmot team to discuss the industry's continued growth, the importance of education and advocacy, and the need to introduce the next generation of professionals to careers in modular construction.
For Wilmot, it's a conversation that hits close to home. As a longtime member of MBI, we've seen firsthand the value of bringing manufacturers, contractors, architects, suppliers, and industry leaders together to share ideas and move modular construction forward.
Investing in the Next Generation
One of the industry's greatest opportunities is also one of its greatest challenges: developing the workforce that will build its future.
Through education, scholarships, professional development, and connections between students and industry professionals, the Modular Construction Education Foundation (MCEF) is helping introduce more students to opportunities within commercial modular construction and strengthen the industry's future talent pipeline.
That mission made MCEF a natural choice when Tom and Heather were asked to select an organization to support during their episode.
Swing for Support
Every episode of Modular Impact goes beyond the conversation with our signature Swing for Support challenge.
Wilmot Modular Structures starts each episode with a $500 donation to an organization selected by our guests. Then it's time to head to the golf simulator, where four challenges give them the opportunity to increase that donation.
Tom and Heather put their golf skills to the test and raised the final contribution to $712.60 for the Modular Construction Education Foundation.
But who earned bragging rights and claimed the top spot on the leaderboard?

More Than a Golf Show
Modular Impact was created to highlight the people, partnerships, and ideas shaping our industry.

Then we'll trade the conference table for the golf simulator and see what happens when a little friendly competition is added to the conversation—all while raising money for organizations that matter to our guests.
